Within the HIV/AIDS pandemic, empowering Religious Superiors is crucial. They understand the need to provide their Communities with meaningful education and effective policies regarding HIV and AIDS. Addressing this need is urgent and doable. Upcoming AACSS conferences will continue to offer Religious leaders and other Sisters opportunities to empower one another. |

NIGERIA: In 2008 local Sisters will offer an AACSS conference for approximately fifty Religious Superiors from Communities throughout Nigeria. |

MALAWI / ZAMBIA: In September 2008, Local Sisters will offer an AACSS conference in Zambia for approximately eighty-four Malawian and Zambian Religious women. |

Sustaining the AACSS The AACSS collaborates with communities of African women Religious who are extremely poor but do contribute to the work of the AACSS with the widow’s mite and their many talents. However, the magnificent labor of the sub-Saharan Sisters amid most difficult and challenging settings could not bring forth this unique, spirit-filled program without the equally magnificent support of generous men and women, Religious Congregations as well as private faith-based Foundations. |
